Yes, I know it is only February, but Spring will come. So now is the time to start planning. Here at the Dolmage Tree Farm we are already thinking about when to do what once the snow is gone and the ground is no longer frozen solid.
Once again we will be planting trees to replace those that were sold. Thanks to everyone who purchased a tree or more last year. We are excited to have some new varieties to try this year. And that can be one of the hardest parts, waiting YEARS to see if they become beautiful trees we are proud to claim as being from the “Dolmage Tree Farm”.
It’s really dry, so water all those trees that were planted this year and last year. Just put the hose near the edge of the planting circle, or drip line and let it run about half force for an hour. Let it soak up that water, and do it every week! Also, be sure you put mulch around the tree to hold the moisture, but NOT touching the bark of the tree; let it breath.
We are pleased to announce that Jorden has joined the Dolmage Tree Farm team. Jorden has a degree in horticulture from Iowa State University and years of experience helping homeowners improve their landscaping.
